Matt Reed, CCIM

Matt Reed helped co-found Tailwater Properties in 2018 based on the belief of a hands-on approach to an ever-changing real estate market. Matt’s unique background helps him take a more analytical view of real estate and come up with feasible solutions to client needs. In addition to representing users on the brokerage side, Matt focuses on evaluating development & acquisition opportunities for Tailwater Properties and its clients. Matt combines intimate market knowledge with a strong analytical background to evaluate real estate opportunities.

Prior to entering the brokerage & development industry, Matt spent seven years as a Senior Loan Producer for First Southern Mortgage Corporation. At First Southern, Matt was responsible for underwriting & producing over $300 million in commercial real estate loans throughout several states and all property types. Matt’s disciplined underwriting background gives him a unique skill set in terms of valuing investment sales and acquisitions. His experience and connections in commercial real estate lending are invaluable to Tailwater Properties and its clients.

Matt graduated Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance. He holds a CCIM designation for expertise in commercial real estate. Matt is a Knoxville native living with his wife Ashley, and two young sons Henry & John. Matt serves as an elder at Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church, and is a member of the Board of Directors for Sequoyah Hills Early Enrichment Program (SHEEP) as well as the March of Dimes Commercial Real Estate Industry Awards.
